Seasonal Allergies or COVID-19? Know The Difference


Allergies in Texas can be terrible, especially as the seasons change and different plants begin to pollinate. With the current pandemic it can be stressful to know if you are experiencing COVID symptoms or seasonal allergies.

In this video television doctor, Dr, Oz and an allergy specialist go over the major differences between each symptom.

When considering your symptoms consider where in your body your symptoms are centred. Allergies affect the upper airways. Toi help you identify if you are experiencing allergies take an at home, over the counter antihistamine and if you experience relief of your symptoms within 30 minutes to an hour you are experiencing seasonal allergies.

Most Common Allergy Symptoms:

  • Runny nose
  • Itchy eyes
  • Sneezing
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • NO FEVER

Helpful Tip: If you are a seasonal allergy sufferer (especially in the Fall) but are not yet experiencing symptoms get on your allergy treatment now. That way if you start to experience symptoms you can know that it is not allergies you are suffering from.


Coronavirus symptoms affect the lower part of the body (nose and below). So when considering your symptoms consider where in your body your symptoms exits.

Most Common COVID-19 Symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Fever or chills
  • Fatigue
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea
